Description

Significant numbers of the American Indian population are at risk for lack of healthcare. Cheryl will discuss the path to address healthcare disparities in American Indian populations in Bismarck-Mandan and the surrounding areas.

Cheryl Ann Kary, Hunkuotawin, is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. She holds a B.S. in Communications from University of Mary, a Masters degree in Management and an MBA. She received her Ph.D. in Communications and Public Discourse from the University of North Dakota. Cheryl is the Executive Director of the Sacred Pipe Resource Center, a non-profit seeking to improve civic and social engagement of Native populations in Bismarck-Mandan. Cheryl is a mother, an avid reader, a softball player, an introvert who likes peopling in moderation, and is a hopeless optimist.
