  • PARENT ARE SEXUALITY EDUCATORS (PASE)

By request of MANY parents in our congregation, we will offer a FREE workshop for parents, grandparents, and guardians who want to learn how to have comfortable, matter-of-fact conversations with their children or teens about sexuality.

    Wednesday, October 25 @ 6-8 PM

What is PASE? PASE provides education that is comprehensive and medically accurate, for parents of children and youth of all ages.

Why should we attend? Our kids receive messages about sex every day. By and large, they want and need to talk with us about relationships and sexuality. Research shows that teens who talk with trusted adults about sex are more likely to delay sexual activity and less likely to engage in unprotected sex when they do become sexually active.

What will we do at PASE? Through guided discussion, we'll explore real-life issues related to sexuality, examine our own values, and learn how to use teachable moments to get the conversation started. We'll leave the session with helpful tips and materials for having age-appropriate conversations with our kids.

Who will be presenting? Katie Christensen is a member of the Fargo-Moorhead UU and a trained sexuality educator through Planned Parenthood in Fargo. We are honored to welcome her back to our congregation!

How do I register for this FREE workshop? Please RSVP by emailing Karen Van Fossan at minister@bismanuu.org or calling 701.223.6788. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

We hope to see you on the 25th!
