Dr. Crowley discusses concepts posited in Riane Eisler's "The Chalice and the Blade:  Our History, Our Future," which outlines the historical and cultural underpinnings of some of the most widely held beliefs about the sexes.  Eisler argues against the idea that a society must be either patriarchal or matriarchal.  Her argument that this sort of "battle of the sexes" is "neither divinely nor biologically ordained" will be the main topic of conversation.
